KHANKALA. Nov 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Rebel group leaders are planning to hold a series of large-scale terrorist acts against federal forces and local authorities in Chechnya in the near future, a source in the unified federal headquarters told Interfax- Military News Agency on Monday.
"Rebels are fully engaged in preparations for terrorist acts and recruitment of kamikaze terrorists, including women and teenagers," the source said.
He stressed that federal forces together with local law- enforcement agencies were holding pin-point operations in various districts of the troubled republic in order to prevent the terrorist acts.
"There is information that guerillas are planning terrorist acts, including those outside Chechnya," the source noted.
He added that "federal forces are holding special operations near the Chechen administrative border with Russia's internal republics of Ingushetia and Dagestan."
