Turkish ship to take part in Georgian naval exercises

TBILISI. Nov 12 (Interfax-AVN) - The TCG Fatih frigate of the Turkish Navy will enter the Georgian port of Poti for a friendly visit on November 18, the Georgian Defense Ministry press service told Interfax-Military News Agency on Tuesday.

"The Turkish frigate will take part in Georgian naval exercises scheduled for November 19, in which 11 Georgian warships will participate," the press service said.

While staying in Poti, the crew of the frigate will meet with the Georgian Navy Command and city mayor David Kantaria.

The Fatih has a length of 111m, width of 14.2m, compartment of 176 people and speed of 40knots. It is armed with artillery and air defense assets and carries a combat helicopter.
