MOSCOW. Nov 12 (Interfax-AVN) - The R&D Institute of Steel, Spetsialnye Materialy research and production association, FORT Tekhnologia company and other enterprises are exhibiting new outfit providing enhanced protection of servicemen in direct fire engagement with the enemy at the 6th international forum of means of security providing Interpolitex 2002 that is underway in Mosocw.
FORT Tekhnologia, which develops and supplies bulletproof outfit for special-purpose units of the Federal Security Service (FSB), Interior Ministry, Main Intelligence Department (GRU) and very important persons, is exhibiting the Defender operational set and Ulan protective multifunctional system. In addition, the enterprise's bench features the Redut tactical body armor, Dragun universal body armor, Jamaica and President body armors, Kiver armored helmet and Pilot- and Johnny-type bulletproof jackets.
Nadezhda Nemodurova, FORT Tekhnologia administrative manager, told Interfax-Military News Agency that Redut had been designed for FSB special-purpose units. It was created on the basis of new technologies, which made it possible to realize ballistic characteristics of domestic aramid fabric and armor steels. Thanks to an optimized shape of armor elements and the outer cover with a special amortization and ventilation system, the body armor has advanced functional specifications, makes it easier for the person wearing it to get off or on combat vehicles and conduct combat operations in restricted conditions, i.e. in a forest, among ruins of houses, etc.
Other enterprises designing outfit for the personnel of law- enforcement agencies are exhibiting a lot of interesting developments, too. Interpolitex 2002 will be open until Friday.
