Federal units in Chechnya financed regularly - chief-of-staff

MOSCOW. Nov 14 (Interfax-AVN) - Units and formations engaged in the anti-guerilla operation in the North Caucasus get funds regularly, Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff Anatoly Kvashnin told reporters on Thursday.

"As a rule, all servicemen get money in a regular way and on time. Sometimes court proceedings are initiated by those who are trying to get bonuses for participation in combat without actually participating in it,: Kvashnin said.

Russian media outlets earlier reported a dramatic increase in the number of suits filed by servicemen who have taken or are taking part in the anti-guerilla operation.

Kvashnin is attending a military historical conference timed to the 60th anniversary of the beginning of the Russian troops' counterattack under Stalingrad. The conference is hosted by the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War in Moscow.
