MOSCOW. Nov 14 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov left for Paris on Thursday to attend a session of the Russian-French Security Council, a spokesman for the Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency.
The session scheduled for Friday will address measures against international terrorism and the situation around Iraq.
The session will take place on the level of foreign and defense ministers of the two countries.
"Participants in the session are to discuss the situation in the North Caucasus, Iraq, the fight against international terrorism and WMD proliferation, including prevention of arms race in space," the spokesman said.
According to him, Sergei Ivanov and Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov are expected to meet with French President Jacques Chirac after the session.
