TBILISI. Nov 18 (Interfax-AVN) - The session of the UN Coordination Council on the Georgian-Abkhaz settlement that has been postponed many times due to Abkhazia's claims to the situation in the Kodori gorge will finally take place in Tbilisi in December, Georgian Minister without Portfolio Malkhaz Kakabadze said on Monday.
He said that consultations on the matter have been launched started. "In case the session is held, delegations will be led by Georgian State Minister Avtandil Dzhorbenadze and Abkhaz Prime Minister Anri Dzhergenia," Kakabadze told Interfax-Military News Agency.
The Kodori gorge poses no danger for the Abkhaz population, he stressed.
Abkhazia claims that a bridgehead for invasion of the republic is being established in the gorge. According to it, up to 1,000 Georgian border guards and National Guard reservists are concentrated in the area.
