Georgian parliament discusses draft decree on Russian military bases

TBILISI. Nov 20 (Interfax-AVN) - The Georgian parliament began on Wednesday to discuss the decree on Russian military bases located in Georgia and on the taxation of land and real estate currently used by the Russian military.

The parliamentarians are planning to ask the Finance Ministry and Defense Ministry to calculate within a month the amount the Russian military's debt to Georgia has reached since the collapse of the Soviet Union, a source in the Georgian government told Interfax-Military News Agency. The authors of the decree believe the Foreign Ministry will then conduct negotiations on the repayment of this debt.
