Base deployment reinforces Central Asian countries' ties with NATO

BISHKEK. Nov 22 (Interfax-AVN) - The deployment of anti- terrorist coalition troops in Central Asian countries has reinforced their relations with NATO, the alliance's Eastern European programs head told Interfax on Friday.

The deployment of the anti-terrorist coalition's military bases played a positive role in strengthening the military and political ties between NATO and these states, he said.

The NATO official is participating in a conference in Bishkek entitled "The Modernization of Defense Ties: New Technologies and Security."
