Two drug addicts try to enter border guard facility in Ingushetia

STAVROPOL. Nov 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Sentries of the Nazran border guard detachment detained two locals in the detachment's motor pool overnight to Monday, chief of the North Caucasus border guard department's press service Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Livantsov told Interfax-Military News Agency.

"The detainees were handed over to local police bodies. According to preliminary reports, both young men were in the state of drug intoxication," Livantsov said.

The lieutenant colonel said the situation on that border section was complicated.

In the past 24 hours, the main attention has been paid to the Chechen, Ossetian, Ingush, Abkhaz, Dagestani and adjacent sections of the Russian-Georgian border. Search, reconnaissance and ambush operations on possible rebel routes, including with the use of border guard aviation, technical border guard assets and sniffer dogs, were in full swing in close-to-border areas.

"There have been no conflict situations around units and detachments of the North Caucasus border guard department in the past 24 hours," Livantsov said.

Search and reconnaissance parties of the Caspian border guard detachment, who regard checking of citizens' obedience to border guard regime and rules of storing, registering and using vessels as their main missions, seized illegal fishing tools in the vicinity of the K-6 channel that flows into the Caspian Sea.

According to the press service, more than 1,000 vessels and individuals have been fined for violation of fishing rules this year. Suits totaling over RUB5.5m (USD172,740) have been brought against the violators. Ten satellite navigation devices, about 1,000 vessels, more than 400km of nets, some 140t of seafood and over 500kg of spawn have been seized for various violations.
