GROZNY. Nov 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Seven guerillas were eliminated in Chechnya on Sunday, a source in the regional HQ for the anti-guerilla operation in the North Caucasus told Interfax- Military News Agency Monday.
Three of the rebels were destroyed near Samashki, Achkhoi- Martan district, in an engagement at the federal Rostov-Baku highway.
"The rebels setting a landmine at the highway were detected by a federal patrol team. Prompted to surrender, the extremists opened fire. A reinforcement team that has come to the place, eliminated three extremists and found three AK-74 and a silenced pistol on them", the source said.
Another three rebels were eliminated in an engagement with federal forces near Sharoi, Achkhoi-Martan district. the patrol as they demanded his ID. The man was eliminated. He had had a pistol and a few hand grenades. Now he is being identified.
