Chechen police chief denies reports of attack on riot police commander

GROZNY. Nov 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Media reports over the past two days on an attempt on the life of Musa Gazimagomedov, commander of the OMON riot police in Chechnya, are not true, head of the Chechen police Sayed-Selim Peshkhoyev told Interfax on Monday.

He also dismissed reports that two of Gazimagomedov's bodyguards were killed.

He stressed that he last talked with Gazimagomedov at his office at noon on Monday. "He is safe and sound and denies the rumors of an assassination attempt spread by the press," Peshkhoyev said.
