Somebody benefits from controversy over Ukraine's alleged Kolchuga sales - Foreign Ministry

KYIV. Nov 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Serhiy Borodenkov, head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service, believes that "someone benefits by keeping allegations of Kolchuga radar sales in the spotlight."

"Somebody has said something again. They will speak about it every day, and the press will take up what has been said and seek comments from the Foreign Ministry," he said.

Borodenkov stressed that the Foreign Ministry has already made its position clear.

"One should not make a mountain out of a molehill" when Ukraine's position is known, and it has been reiterated that "there were no Kolchuga sales to Iraq," he said.

"British and U.S. experts were offered access to all information, and even that which is regarded as classified to a certain degree. This statement was made by presidential chief-of- staff Viktor Medvedchuk at a conference at the presidential headquarters," he said.

Borodenkov noted that all the information is today at UN Security Council Committee 661. Therefore, people should wait "for the UN Security Council's decision."

"This international organization should help us resolve this situation," he stressed.
