KOVROV, Vladimir Region. Nov 26 (Interfax-AVN) - The Degtyarev plant manufacturing missile systems and small arms has implemented this year's defense order ahead of schedule, the plant's press secretary Lyudmila Petrova said on Tuesday.
"In mid-November, the enterprise shipped the products manufactured in the framework of the state defense order for 2002," Petrova told Interfax-Military News Agency. She would not elaborate on the type of the products, saying only that this year's state defense order placed with the enterprise had been implemented in full.
The Degtyarev plant worked on the state defense order in adverse circumstances primarily brought about by the conflict initiated against the enterprise by the MDM (Inter-regional Business World) group, the press secretary stressed. Although the Perm regional court's board canceled the decision of Perm's Dzherzhinsk district court concerning the transfer of 43 percent of the plant's shares totaling USD40m to MDM, the shares have not been returned to the enterprise.
The plant has filed a suit against MDM with the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation, Petrova said.
The Degtyarev plant is the largest defense industry enterprise in the Vladimir region. It specializes in making cannons and small-arms (the 12.7-mm Kord machine-gun, the GSh-30 two-barrel cannon), missile armaments (the 3UBK20 round with the 9M119M missile, the Igla-S man-portable anti-aircraft missile system), equipment for the atomic energy industry, motorbikes, batteries, etc.
