Siberian Military District rehearsing anti-terror measures

CHITA, Southern Siberian. Nov 28 (Interfax-AVN) - Inspecting commissions of the Siberian Military District headquarters will focus on the quality of duties and service security, the district's press service told Interfax-Military News Agency Thursday.

In particular, there will be a comprehensive check of anti- terror plans and skills of personnel in excluding unauthorized access to military objects and preventing terrorist attacks, hostage-taking, and assaults on servicemen and their relatives, the press service said.

The commissions, headed by deputies of the district commander and chefs of the district's main directorates, include best-qualified commissioned officers. Within a week of the inspection, they will check how the units have prepared for a new training period and help the unit commanders in correcting mistakes, if any. The commissions will check the quality of plans for the training year 2003, the preparation of the local commanders for the training, the quality of training facilities and military hardware, logistical support, and discipline, the press service said.
