Mushroom-intoxicated soldier kills four, heavily injures seven mates on Russian-Georgian border

STAVROPOL/CHERKESSK. Nov 29 (Interfax-AVN) - A heavily intoxicated soldier of the Federal Border Guard Service unmotivatedly killed four and injured seven of his mates overnight to Friday, the press service of the North Caucasus Regional Border Guard Department told Interfax-Military News Agency.

Private Denis Solovyov opened desultory fire at his fellows at 4:00 a.m. local time (0100 GMT). The incident occurred at the Ptysh temporary border guard post that post belongs to a border guard unit headquartered in Dombai, Karachaevo-Cherkessian autonomous republic.

Solovyov was arrested in the very act, the press service said.

The prosecutor of the republic is on his way to the scene.

According to witnesses in the Cherkessian border guard detachment, Soloviev had eaten some mindbender mushrooms prior to committing the crime.
