Russian, U.S. aircraft makers win Malaysian tender

IRKUTSK. Nov. 29 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia's SU-30MK Flanker and the F-18E Supercornet of the United States have won a tender to supply fighter planes for the Malaysian Air Force, said Vitaly Zelenkov, a spokesman for the Irkutsk Aircraft- Building Association.

The SU-30MKI is manufactured by Association and the F-18E is made by Boeing.

Malaysia will purchase the planes complete with all accessories and have their crews trained by the suppliers, Zelenkov said.

The Irkutsk Association is a major Russian company that has signed contracts to supply combat and civil aircraft. The Association intends to expand production for SU-30MKI, SU-27UBK, SU-30KN and BE-200 planes.
