Russian chief-of- staff, NATO commanders to discuss anti- terrorist fight in Brussels

MOSCOW. Dec 2 (Interfax-AVN) - Chief-of-Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Anatoly Kvashnin left for Brussels on Monday morning to attend a session of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council, due to take place at NATO headquarters on Tuesday.

"The next day Anatoly Kvashnin will attend a session of the Russia-NATO Council, which will also take place at the Alliance's headquarters," a source in the Russian Defense Ministry told Interfax.

The session of the Russia-NATO Council will focus on the development of relations in NATO at 20, the source said. "In particular, they will discuss joint measures on international terrorism, peacekeeping, and joint tactical exercises on land and sea," he said.

NATO Secretary General George Robertson will chair the session of the Russia-NATO Council, the source said.

"General Kvashnin will outline Russian proposals regarding the fight against international terrorism to his NATO colleagues," the source said. Kvashnin will also have a number of bilateral meetings with NATO military commanders in Brussels.
