DUSHANBE. Dec 2 (Interfax-AVN) - Over 160 kilograms of heroin were seized by officials from the drug control agency under the Tajik president in Dushanbe on Monday.
"This is the largest haul of heroin ever seized by Tajik special services," the agency's press service told Interfax.
"Officials worked for a long time to uncover an organized criminal group involved in large-scale drug-trafficking and with links to other criminal groups," the press service said.
Two group members were arrested and weapons and grenades were seized. The property of the detained has been seized. A criminal case has been opened and an investigation is underway, the press service reports.
