TBILISI. Dec 3 (Interfax-AVN) - Unidentified individuals have abducted a man who is presumed to be the father of a vice- president of Russia's largest oil company Lukoil.
The incident occurred in the village of Pantiani in eastern Georgia.
Georgian Interior Ministry sources told Interfax that the name of the abducted man is Sadi Sharipov and that his son works at Lukoil.
Lukoil told Interfax that there is no one having the name of Sharipov among the company's top officials. Meanwhile, a Lukoil vice- president, Vagit Sharipov, was born in Georgia's village of Pantiani.
Late on Sunday, five armed people burst into Sadi Sharipov's house, took golden jewelry, USD400, and took the man hostage. They fled the scene in Sharipov's Niva, according to the Interior Ministry. The car was discovered near the village of Kumisi, 30 kilometers east of Tbilisi, on Monday.
No demands from the kidnappers have been received so far.
