MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax-AVN) - An interdepartmental logistics liaison department will be set up in Russia for comprehensive logistical support of law-enforcement agencies within the framework of the Joint Unified Logistics System (JULS), a competent source in the Defense Ministry told Interfax- Military News Agency Wednesday.
The department's establishment is envisaged by a joint order of the Defense Ministry, the Federal Border Guard Service, the Federal Railway Troops Service, the Federal Government Communication and Information Agency, and the Special construction of secret objects].
According to the source, the main task of the department is going to be the implementation of the plan of transition to JULS. The plan was approved by the Russian government on February 19, 2002.
The department will continuingly select decisions within JULS, the source said.
He added that the joint order in question is now being registered in the Justice Ministry.
