FAPSI officials attacked in Ingushetia

NAZRAN. Dec 4 (Interfax-AVN) - Employees of the Federal Agency for Government Communications and Information (FAPSI) have been attacked in the city of Nazran, Ingushetia.

The FAPSI officials were attacked when they were returning home from work, the Ingush Interior Ministry told Interfax on Wednesday.

Two criminals fired guns, wounding one of the officials.

A FAPSI official fired back, wounding one of the attackers, who was later arrested. The attacker is a resident of Grozny, who temporarily resides in Ingushetia. A Makarov pistol and an F-1 grenade were found on him.

The second attacker fled and is currently at large.

The Ingush Interior Ministry believes the attackers specifically targeted the FAPSI officials, because two FAPSI officials have been killed and one wounded in Ingushetia in the past two years as a result of similar attacks.
