Russia, India sign memorandum on anti-terrorism

NEW DELHI. Dec 4 (Interfax-AVN) - An inter-governmental memorandum of understanding related to cooperation in the eradication of terrorism was approved at Russian-Indian talks in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The memorandum stipulates concern over the growing threat of terrorism and condemnation of all terrorist activities.

The Russian and Indian governments will exchange information on terrorist groups, including contacts between such groups in the two countries, the memorandum reads.

Furthermore, bilateral contacts will be aimed at prevention of terrorist attacks with the use of nuclear, chemical and biological materials, the memorandum reads.

The two countries will exchange experience in apprehension of specific terrorist acts such as hostage taking and hijackings.

The Russian and Indian Foreign Ministries will set up a pertinent working group.

Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov signed the memorandum on the part of Russia.
