Georgian investigators to question former British hostage

TBILISI. Dec 6 (Interfax-AVN) - A joint group of investigators from the Georgian Prosecutor General's Office, the State Security Ministry and the Interior Ministry will arrive in Britain on Saturday, Temur Mamatsashvili, Georgia's ambassador to Britain, told Interfax-Military News Agency.

They will take statements from businessman Peter Shaw, who was taken hostage in Georgia. The questioning will begin in Cardiff (Wales) on December 9.

The British citizen was held in captivity in the Pankisi Gorge for 141 days. He was released in a special operation in early November, after which he left Tbilisi. One criminal was killed and another three managed to escape during the hostage release operation.
