MOSCOW. Dec 10 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian General Staff has distributed a directive concerning prevention of possible terrorist and provocation acts in military districts and fleets.
"Chief-of-Staff Anatoly Kvashnin has issued a directive instructing the commanders of military units and chiefs of military garrisons to work out plans of protection from terrorist threats," a competent source in the Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency on Tuesday.
He said that military units are given one month to work out the plans of anti-terrorist measures aimed at strengthening military installations and compounds. The directive demands that officials take a set of security measures in case of terrorist acts and monitor possible threats in order to cope with them.
"Every military unit down to a separate battalion must have anti-terrorist plans. The plans must be cleared with administrations of federal districts, local departments of the Federal Security Service, Interior and Emergencies Ministries, and other law-enforcement agencies," the source stressed.
