MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Combat crews of the Space Troops are about to complete preparations for launching the Molnia-M medium class booster rocket at the Plesetsk cosmodrome.
"The booster rocket will put in orbit a Cosmos series spacecraft in the Defense Ministry's interests on December 24," the Space Troops press service reported on Friday.
The combat crews have assembled the booster rocket, tested its components and on-board systems. Simultaneously they checked the functioning of combat systems of the spacecraft and attached it to the acceleration unit.
"In accordance with information obtained from the Space Troops command post, the assembly of the space rocket has begun. All pre-launch operations are taking place in accordance with an earlier approved schedule," the press service said.
