TBILISI. Dec 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Vakhtang Rcheulishvili, who is presidential envoy on the Georgian-Ossetian settlement, will meet North Ossetian President Alexander Dzasokhov in Vladikavkaz on January 10, 2003.
Rcheulishvili told a news conference in Tbilisi that before that he will meet South Ossetian President Eduard Koikoty.
The restoration of trust between Georgians and Ossetians is a must for the settlement of consequences of the armed conflict between two parties in 1989-1992.
Rcheulishvili stressed that "provocation" statements of several Georgian politicians spoil the whole process. In particular, recently Georgian lawmaker Georgy Baramidze called Koikoty "a bandit" and called for canceling negotiations with him.
Rcheulishvili said that such "incompetent and anti-state" statements complicate the settlement process.
