ASHGABAT. Dec 30 (Interfax-AVN) - Boris Shikhmuradov, the organizer of the failed coup attempt in Turkmenistan, has been sentenced to 25 years in custody, the national television reported on Monday.
Shikhmuradov will spend the first five years in jail, and will then be moved to a penitentiary center to serving the rest of his sentence, the television said.
The court ruling also says that Shikhmuradov will provide compensation for the damage he has inflicted on the national economy.
