MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax-AVN) - U.S. Ambassador to Russia Alexander Vershbow has spoken in favor of a continuing dialogue with Moscow on cooperation in creating missile defense systems.
The U.S. hopes to continue this discussion with Russia, which could make it possible to begin creating a serious program of cooperation on missile defense, Vershbow told Interfax on Monday.
The American ambassador said he views it as quite realistic that Russia and the U.S. could deploy a joint missile defense system that could protect both countries from ballistic missiles and weapons of mass destruction.
