TBILISI. Jan 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Georgia is setting up its armed forces, border guard troops and special purpose units to establish solid ground for peaceful settlement of the Georgian- Abkhaz conflict, not to start a war in Abkhazia, President Eduard Shevardnadze told national radio on Monday.
Georgia is cooperating in the sphere with leading global powers, primarily with the United States, which resulted in the implementation of the USD64m Train and Equip program of the Pentagon.
The president said that "everything that is done for the state development is aimed at bringing Abkhazia back" under the Georgian jurisdiction.
All possible measures will be taken to make it happen in order to keep Georgia's territorial integrity and ensure the return of refugees to Abkhazia.
