"Officials of the mobile group of the Partnership for Peace program's training center started reading a course of lectures on anti-terrorist issues in the Ukrainian National Defense Academy," a press service official told Interfax-Military News Agency.
According to him, the lectures will be attended, in particular, by officials of the Defense Ministry and General Staff central administrations, the Ukrainian Security Service, the state committee for border guard issues and other law- enforcement agencies.
The course will end on Friday with a news conference which is to involve Turkish Ambassador to Ukraine Bilge Cankorel.
The Turkish training center was established in 1998. The main aim of its courses is to share experience that Turkey gained in the sphere of combating terrorism. The mobile group consists of five officers representing the center's command, the main gendarmerie command and main security department.
Since its establishment, the center has held 107 courses and three seminars involving over 2,000 servicemen from various countries. Apart from Ukraine the anti-terrorist course will be read in six countries of southeastern Europe, the Balkans, Caucasus and Central Asia this year.
