BISHKEK. Jan 24 (Interfax-AVN) - U.S. and Kyrgyz troops are conducting a joint exercise called Balance Night in Kyrgyzstan from January 21 to February 20.
U.S. special forces, the National Guard and the Kyrgyz Scorpio battalion will participate in the exercise in keeping with the plan on military contacts between the U.S. Central Command Headquarters and the Kyrgyz Defense Ministry.
At the first stage of the maneuvers, the troops will practice shooting, mountaineering and rapid response. Moreover, liaison, helicopter maneuvers and medical and sapper skills will be drilled. Ground exercises will be conducted at the second stage slated for February 17-19. The closing ceremony will be held on February 20.
This is the third such exercise to take place in Kyrgyzstan.
