TBILISI. Jan 27 (Interfax-AVN) - A group of Georgian Interior Ministry officials will leave for studies in the United States and Hungary in February with the financial support of the FBI.

"The FBI already financed the implementation of a series of programs on training abroad personnel such as investigators, officials of the national bureau for combating drug addiction, and special purpose servicemen. A total of about 200 law- enforcers are to be trained," chief of the ministry's international legal relations service David Glonti told Interfax- Military News Agency on Monday.

The FBI is ready to provide major technical aid to Georgia as well, Glonti said.

According to him, the bureau's office will open in Tbilisi in the near future, "after which cooperation will become closer."

The bureau's delegation visited Georgia a few days ago. A decision was made at the negotiations to open an FBI office in Tbilisi within several months.
