TBILISI. Jan 30 (Interfax-AVN) - Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov met with personnel of the 12th Russian military base in Georgia's autonomous republic of Adzharia during his two-day visit to the area.
Acting commander of the base Colonel Svyatoslav Kim told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday that Adzharian leader Aslan Abashidze accompanied Luzhkov during the trip.
Kim denied Georgian mass media reports that an accord on the provision of humanitarian aid by the Moscow mayor's office to the Russian military in Adzharia has been reached.
