About 500 officers to attend military conference in Moscow

MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax-AVN) - An All-Army Conference of Russian Armed Forces Officers will take place in Moscow from Thursday to Saturday.

"The conference to be chaired by Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov will involve about 500 officers, among them commanders of military units ranging from platoon to regiment and those equal to them. Top officials of military branches and arms of service within the Armed Forces and those of central military command bodies will also take part," the Defense Ministry press service told Interfax-Military News Agency on Tuesday.

Participants in the conference are planning to discuss combat and mobilization readiness, organization and conduction of combat training, service of troops, military service security, military discipline, and comprehensive servicemen support. They will share advanced experience and work out measures to increase the role of officers who command platoons, companies, battalions and regiments in organization of routine troops activity, training and education of subordinates.

The participants will also attend celebrations timed to Fatherland Defender's Day, the press service said.
