OMSK, South-western Siberia. Feb 26 (Interfax-AVN) - A broad range of armaments for the Land Forces and anti-terrorists units will be exhibited at the military equipment, technology and armaments show that is to take place in Omsk from June 3 to 7, Maxim Pavsky, official with the press service of the Omsk region administration, said on Wednesday.
"For the first time in Russia, the Omsk show brought together armaments for the Land Forces and equipment and armaments for special-purpose units with the goal to make a comprehensive demonstration of anti-terrorist assets, which has become the show's peculiarity," Pavsky told Interfax-Military News Agency.
Participants in the show and its visitors will see special- purpose armored vehicles, small aviation for landing operations, new automobiles and special vehicles, protection, communication and space intelligence assets, special-purpose arms and small- arms for mobile and special-purpose units.
The show will feature seminars and conferences involving officials from R&D institutes and design bureaus. The events will focus on problems of armament and military hardware production for local military conflicts, Pavsky said.
About 100 Russian and foreign enterprises are expected to exhibit their products at the show, he noted.
Omsk has hosted four arms shows. The first show took place in 1996. A decision was made to hold shows in Omsk on odd years, when a similar show does not take place in the city of Nizhny Tagil.
