TBILISI. March 3 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Land Forces deputy commander on peacekeeping forces Lieutenant General Valery Yevnevich will arrive in Tbilisi on Monday to meet with Georgian Chief-of-Staff Dzhoni Pirtskhalaishvili.
"Yevnevich has inspected units of the mixed peacekeeping forces in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone and will visit Tbilisi on Monday to meet with the Georgian chief-of-staff," the forces' chief-of-staff Colonel Gennady Seryshev told Interfax- Military News Agency.
Yevnevich visited the peacekeepers' posts and praised the level of personnel training.
Before heading for Tskhinvali the Land Forces deputy commander stayed in Abkhazia where the CIS Collective Peacekeeping Forces have been stationed since 1994.
