MOSCOW. March 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will make a large statement on the beginning of the military operation in Iraq in the nearest future, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov said while convening a government session on Thursday.
"The Russian administration expresses regret that the Iraq crisis is being resolved militarily and without a resolution from the UN Security Council, the system of international security," Kasyanov said.
Kasyanov said he discussed the beginning of the war with Putin on Thursday morning.
"Russia has done everything it could to ensure that crises and conflicts are resolved exclusively through the international security system," Kasyanov said.
