MINSK. April 4 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov has expressed confidence that the Iraq issue is certain to be brought back into diplomatic channels.
"Sooner or later, the issue of settling the situation around Iraq through political means will return to the UN's agenda. But the sooner it happens, the better," Ivanov said at a news conference in Minsk on Friday.
"From the very beginning, our position has been that the settlement of the Iraqi issue by a political process can be achieved only through the UN," the defense minister stressed.
