MOSCOW. April 7 (Interfax-AVN) - Iraqi Ambassador to Russia Abbas Khalaf has said that Iraq cannot and will not use weapons of mass destruction against the American and British troops even if the coalition forces resort to using gas in the fight for Baghdad.
"Iraq will not use gas even if the Americans use the so- called police gas. We simply cannot do that because Iraq does not have weapons of mass destruction, gas included," the ambassador replied to Interfax at a news conference in Moscow.
He denied American reports that several cities, including Basra, had been seized. "The Americans do not have full control over a single city in Iraq yet," the ambassador said.
Representatives of other Arab countries are fighting against the Americans together with Iraqis, the ambassador said. He replied to Interfax that there is not a single volunteer from Russia in Iraq. "There are no Russians there. It is an Arab business, and we must bring it to an end," the diplomat said.
