GROZNY. April 7 (Interfax-South) - A Niva jeep exploded in the center of Grozny on Monday afternoon. The blast is believed to have killed five people, all of them law enforcement officials, Grozny Prosecutor Alexander Nikolayev told Interfax.
The powerful landmine that caused the blast went off when the car was driving by. The explosion left a crater measuring up to 4 meters in diameter.
A criminal investigation has been initiated and a group of policemen and investigators is currently working at the scene.
