SEVASTOPOL. April 9 (Interfax-AVN) - A missile boat unit of the Black Sea Fleet will perform a training voyage in the north- western part of the Black Sea on April 10-17 under the supervision of fleet commander Vice Admiral Vladimir Masorin, the Black Sea Fleet press service reported on Wednesday.
The voyage will also involve vessel and aircraft groups as well as coastal units.
The main goals of the event are the improvement of skills of commanders and headquarters and practice in interaction of task forces accomplishing command tasks. The voyage will involve some 20 warships, naval aviation, over 20 auxiliary vessels and some 10 vehicles of coastal troops.
The voyage will have two stages. The first one will take place on April 10-15 and will include preparations for conducting a simulated combat operation, and the second stage will take place on April 15-17 and will feature the accomplishment of missions against the background of a combat training operation.
Black Sea Fleet sailors will practice in coning vessels after minesweepers and performing complex missile and artillery firing that are to involve vessel and attack aviation groups and coastal units.
The voyage envisages the accomplishment of over 30 training missions, and some of them will take place in the framework of a competition for the Russian Navy Commander's Prize.
