MOSCOW. April 10 (Interfax-AVN) - A command post exercise of the CIS Unified Air Defense System started on the territory of six countries on Thursday, Russian Air Force Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Mikhailov told Interfax-Military News Agency.
"Cooperative operations between divisions of the Unified Air Defense System in guarding CIS air space is rehearsed during the exercise," Mikhailov said.
The two-day event involves command bodies and air defense forces on duty from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, he noted.
Over 50 planes and helicopters are creating the background for the war games. Mikhailov is overseeing oversee the exercises from the Russian Air Force central command post.
