MOSCOW. April 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Moscow is concerned about the sudden agreement on defense cooperation between Georgia and the U.S.
Georgia undertakes "far-reaching obligations" in this document, reads a Russian Foreign Ministry report obtained by Interfax on Friday.
"This agreement enables U.S. servicemen to enter Georgia without visas, as well as the placement of U.S. military equipment on its territory and its unrestricted movement. U.S. servicemen receive exclusive rights and powers and enjoy the privileges and immunities of administrative and technical employees of the U.S. Embassy in Georgia," the document reads.
"What are the reasons for such sudden military activity in the Caucasus region, which is sensitive from the point of view of Russia's security?" the document reads.
"If it is anti-terrorism, it would be logical to include Russia in the decision-making process. If such actions are taken without Moscow, it causes very understandable questions and concerns," the release reads.
