MOSCOW. April 11 (Interfax-AVN) - After-war settlement in Iraq will not be the only problem in U.S.-Russian relations after Operation Shock and Awe ends, Andrei Kokoshin, chairman of the committee on the CIS affairs and relations with compatriots in the State Duma lower house of Russian parliament, told Interfax- Military News Agency on Friday.
"At least three problems in the international security field require intensive cooperation between Russia and the U.S. The first problem is the North Korean nuclear problem. The second problem is contribution to the stabilization in South Asia and in Indian-Pakistani relations that might get tense in the near future. The third problem is prevention of radicalization in several Islamic countries, including in Central Asia, for this radicalization might complicate accomplishment of anti terrorist missions," Kokoshin said.
He noted that the first problem is the most important one. "If the problem is not solved on a basis that is acceptable for all parties, a chain reaction of WMD proliferation might follow," Kokoshin added.
