KHANKALA. April 14 (Interfax-South) - Financing of Chechen militants from Arab countries has almost been eradicated, a spokesman for the headquarters of the Combined Federal Forces in the North Caucasus has reported.
"Radio interception data and intelligence information confirm this," the spokesman noted.
"Militants' families receive some of their financing from former president of the so-called republic of Ichkeria Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev," he said. Since this financing is insufficient, militant leaders, including Ruslan Gelayev and Vakha Arsanov, have switched their efforts to collecting funds in Azerbaijan and Turkey, he said.
