121 U.S. servicemen killed in Iraq - Pentagon

WASHINGTON. April 16 (Interfax-AVN) - At least 121 U.S. servicemen have been killed and 494 wounded since the beginning of the military operation in Iraq, the EFE news agency reported on Tuesday citing the U.S. Department of Defense.

As many as 105 people were killed in action, and the rest as a result of incidents not related to combat operations, the report says. Fifty-six people were wounded outside the battlefield.

According to the same report, four U.S. soldiers are missing in action.

Great Britain, which is the main U.S. ally in the anti-Iraqi coalition, has said that it has lost over 30 men in the operation.
