Tubeless artillery prospects to be discussed in Russia's Tula

MOSCOW. April 16 (Interfax-AVN) - The research and technical council under the administration of the Russian Armed Forces chief of armament will hold an extramural session at the Splav research and production enterprise in Tula on Friday, the Defense Ministry press service reported.

"Participants in the session that is to be chaired by Colonel General Alexei Moskovsky, Armed Forces chief of armament and deputy defense minister, will discuss the role and place of tubeless artillery in the Armed Forces armament system and its development prospects," the press service said.

The session was planned beforehand and is considered to be a stage in elaboration of the state armament program for 2006-2015 that the Defense Ministry and other federal executive bodies start about to begin.

The session will involve chiefs of the ministry's main and central departments, who are responsible for developing and using tubeless artillery systems as well as general directors and constructors of industrial enterprises and organizations related to the development and mass production of armament systems.
