MOSCOW. April 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Chairman of the State Chemical Disarmament Commission and presidential envoy to the Volga federal district Sergei Kiriyenko suggested that President Vladimir Putin appointed new director general of the Russian Ammunition Agency Viktor Kholstov as the commission's deputy chairman.
"Kiriyenko made it public at a meeting with Kholstov who will officially take office on Friday," the Kiriyenko press service reported.
The officials discussed further implementation of the national program of chemical weapons destruction in Russia.
Kholstov was appointed director general of the Russian Ammunition Agency by Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov on Monday. Kholstov replaced Zinovy Pak who quit the state service upon reaching the retirement age.
