MOSCOW. April 28 (Interfax-AVN) - Chairman of the Russian Committee for Military-Technical Cooperation with Foreign States Mikhail Dmitriyev handed over certificates for the right to conduct foreign economic activity to four Russian enterprises on Monday, the committee's press service told Interfax-Military News Agency.
"The certificates authorize the conduction of foreign economic activity in the sphere of military-purpose products as far as supplies of spare-parts, components, training and auxiliary equipment for earlier exported military products, their technical servicing and repairs are concerned. They were handed over to the Urals optic and mechanical plant located in Yekaterinburg, Uralvagonzavod production association located in Nizhny Tagil, Zvyozdochka federal state-owned unitary enterprise located in Severodvinsk, and Bazalt state-owned research and production enterprise located in Moscow," a press service official said.
The enterprises are added to the list of organizations authorized to conduct foreign economic activity as far as military-purpose products are concerned.
The right has already been granted to the Pribor federal state-owned research and production center, Moscow-based Salyut machine-building enterprise, Rubin central design bureau of naval equipment, Sukhoi military aircraft corporation, Splav state- owned research and production enterprise located in Tula, and Kvant production association located in Veliky Novgorod.
President Vladimir Putin signed an instruction on September 16, 2002, authorizing the committee to grant enterprises the right to export spare parts, conduct technical servicing and repair military-purpose products. This was done to speed up implementation of contracts in the sphere of foreign trade and to respond quicker to requests of partners in military-technical cooperation.
