MOSCOW. April 29 (Interfax-AVN) - The total volume of expenses that Russia will handle in the framework of the chemical disarmament program for up to 2012 will amount to RUB90.2bn (USD2.9bn).
Out of this sum, RUB1.27bn (USD41.16m) will be spent on the maintaining security during the storage and destruction of chemical weapons, RUB582.7m (USD18.74m) on medical and sanitary inspection of territories around the weapons' storehouses and destruction installations, and RUB1.95bn (USD63.03m) on the state environmental control and monitoring, the press service of Sergei Kiriyenko, chairman of the state chemical disarmament commission and presidential envoy to the Volga federal district, reported on Tuesday.
According to the press service, some 70 percent of the funding will be provided in the framework of the Global Partnership program.
